Wellness Tea Obsessed

Golden Milk may be what anti-inflammation lovers are sipping on out there, but head on over to our Amagansett location, and it’s all about the Golden Tea aka Wellness Tea. Once we spot one of our Wellness Tea Obsessives (WTOs) walk through the door, it’s tea time: grab a 16oz cup, drizzle a little honey around the sides, sprinkle a dash of cinnamon and cayenne, pour the cold-pressed apple, turmeric, ginger, and lemon concentrate, froth it up by way of the espresso machine steamer, and top with hot water. A few WTOs forgo the honey, relying on the sweetness of the apple, and one customer even adds a shot of apple cider vinegar (kudos to that!).

Of course, we love the tea too, but we had to ask our WTOs, what has them hooked?

Melissa: “In your mind you are doing something good for your body; it’s all organic; tastes great; and you feel so good after drinking it!”

Jennifer: “This is my second year having a Wellness Tea everyday, and I totally feel the benefits. Plus, not only is the flavor amazing, it keeps me from drinking more coffee.”

Anne: “It’s the cayenne for me. I love the kick, the burn, the feeling like everything in your body is getting a reboot.”

Here’s a recipe in homemade form:

  • 1 tbs freshly squeezed lemon juice (this is our favorite lemon press: Lemon Press
  • 1 tsp freshly grated turmeric  (shave the turmeric using a small grater) 
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated ginger (peel ginger then grate)
  • 1/4 c. organic apple juice 
 
Add the above to a steaming cup of hot tea water
Drizzle a little bit of honey (1/2 tsp is plenty)
 
Shake cinnamon and cayenne (according to your likeness)! We love these shakers because you can combine your preferred ratio of cinnamon and turmeric and always have this combo at the ready!
