3 Summer Tips + Our Fav Drink Recipe
Deep breath now! Summer is here, and we have 60 days to embrace its presence. You won’t regret it if you adopt a few key healthy practices that help summer feel as invigorating as it should be.
1. Wake up with the sun as often as possible! The natural daylight is such a gift, and the inspiration that comes from being around the sunshine all day long is something that fuels your cells and boosts your mood. For some of us, the weight of the past year has been a mental burden that is hard to shake off. We can use the sunshine to reteach your brain that every day is a miracle!
2. Eat seasonal vegetables! Hopefully this concept isn’t boring you! You will be amazed what happens to your digestion when you eat organic and seasonal. No chemicals = no body burden = access to top notch nutrients. Watermelon (hydration), basil, peaches (antioxidants), berries (fiber), sugar snap peas, zucchini (b vitamins), eggplant (anthocyanins), cherries (potassium), potatoes…these fruits and veggies grow to nourish us at a time of year when we need extra hydration and mineral balancing! Grow a small garden, visit a farmer’s market once a week, join a CSA, eat with us at Organic Krush! We are committed to offering you a health and wellness concept like no other restaurant in the world!
3. Hydrate creatively! We start the day with two large glasses of water. When you sleep at night, you deplete the hydration in your cells. It makes a huge difference in your day to start with replenishment, then your brain and body can function at their best because they are not desperate for nourishment. Throughout the day, leave large pitchers of water on your counter, filled with combos such as strawberry + basil, lemon + thyme, orange + cinnamon. Speaking of strawberry and basil, we have a non-buzzed cocktail recipe that will blow your summer mind and help reduce alcohol intake! At our new organic fine dining experience in Montauk, La Fin Kitchen & Lounge, this is the drink du jour! We call it Bicyclette…probably because you will drink it and feel like jumping on a bicycle and cruising all summer long! Give us a follow on Instagram here for the recipe video coming soon!
