Insider Knowledge
Watching a restaurant come together is both thrilling and stressful, and that’s from the outside. The wonderful staff of the new La Fin in Montauk has been working tirelessly and passionately to create a special dining experience for its guests. From the warm and inviting interior, to the ocean views and beachy vibes, La Fin is amped up to be a one of a kind taste sensation. What an exciting summer treat!
Of course, in true Organic Krush fashion, there is an extensive list of fresh pressed juices, smoothies and breakfast favorites. Lucky for me, a personal fav the Mexican coffee smoothie made the menu cut. Call me a very happy girl. There are delicious sweet or savory crepes, quiche and an omelette that can really start your day off right. The best part about it, is you can count on that organic promise that made you fall in love with OK on day one.
For our gluten free, vegan and vegetarian friends, there are plenty of scrumptious options. Some of the best times in life are centered around meals with friends and family, and no one should ever leave feeling dissatisfied. Stop in for a coconut pudding with granola, a berry smoothie, or a toasted quinoa bowl, but make sure to check out the other fresh options. Pair your meal, preferably dinner but no one is judging, with a cocktail of fresh pressed juice and spirit of your choice. Grab a local wine or venture out of state for something old world, bubbly, red, white or pink.
Under the expert eye of the Organic Krush management team and steady hand of Chef Jimmy Tchinnis, the restaurant is already flourishing and catching eyes. Operating in a sustainable, earth friendly manner, the menu plays host to some of the best seafood and produce the East end has to offer. There’s crudo and tartar, lobster toast and grilled calamari, mussels and of course fresh oysters. It brings the music of Billy Joel’s “Downeaster Alexa” immediately into my brain, and fosters images of fishermen in the early morning basking in the ocean air and sunshine. Summer is finally around the corner and I am here for it.
Whatever you’re looking for, a quick bite, an organic cup of coffee, or a sit down dinner with loved ones, La Fin is here for you. I have been lucky enough to witness the beautiful beginning of this restaurant. The careful consideration in staffing, the inspiring mood board outlining the vision for the space, the building of the backyard herb garden, and the coming together of a space that bodes to be a place of many dreamy memories and lots of vibrant life. Join me in what I expect will be a very magical summer.
