Despite how fast life moves, it’s been important to us this year to reflect on all we’ve built and the people who have made our restaurant group what it is today. There are three elements that have stood the test of time for us and that will continue to power us as we grow into the future.

Our Hearts:
Our business story has been an intense and passionate journey. We started with a dream to create one restaurant that would meet our families’ needs for clean food—free from hormones, GMOs, and pesticides. The day we opened our doors, we realized so many other moms and families felt the same way. Within weeks, demand exceeded supply, and we were working through the night to produce what our communities needed: organic cold-pressed juice and nourishing, healing food on the go.

We’ve all heard the business-owner advice, “Get to know every single job required to make your business run.” So we did—with our hearts leading the way. We cooked, juiced, cleaned, and learned QuickBooks, Excel, and how to hire on Indeed. We figured out payroll, taxes, HR, and employee handbooks. We even learned how to clean air filters and fridge coils (which saves thousands of dollars in the long run 🙂). In essence, we’ve done it all—and we’ve truly treasured the learning curve, with all its bumps, masks, gloves, and bruises!

Our People:
We’ve been lucky (and smart) in restaurant hiring: we hired intuitively, choosing compassionate and hardworking team members—people we wanted to spend our days with. Sure, at times we all had a lot to learn, but learning alongside people we enjoyed was the best way to do it. We built second families with our staff and have always felt deep gratitude for their commitment to “Krushing it.”

For those who know Chef Alejandro and Meredith, it’s clear how they quickly became our go-to experts. With their combined brilliance in food and hospitality, you can see how we became the Krush that we are today. Add in Christine—our powerhouse CFO/COO—and we became a tightly run business that earned the right to call itself a successful restaurant group. Without Christine, we’d be full of passion but, frankly, out of business 🙂.

Today, we are proud to say our leadership team is strong and growing. Each Krush location has INCREDIBLY talented managers that have been the cornerstone of our success, demonstrating outstanding leadership and management to ensure our stores thrive. Gus, our area leader,  time machines himself between ALL locations, providing morale support, restaurant wisdom and even fixing those darn fridge coils!  Stephanie singlehandedly runs our marketing department and shows our best Krush to the world. Randy ~ our controller~we still have no idea how he keeps everything straight, and Monica continues to work magic across HR and accounting. We would be lost without our leaders and are endlessly grateful for the security, heart, and structure they bring to the business.

Our Patrons:
Our idea was just that—an idea—until you showed up! Our community grew quickly: people with allergies, chronic illness, gluten sensitivities, and even friends battling cancer connected to the belief that food is medicine. What we put into our bodies makes a real difference in how we thrive.

Our relationship with our guests has become the most rewarding part of our journey. We’ve gotten to know your stories, your families, and how you customize each dish :)! We’ve shared your joy when you completed your first cleanse, reached your health goals, or discovered a new way of eating. You taught us as much as we’ve taught you, especially about loyalty. We’re so blessed by your consistent visits, orders, cheery vibes, and invaluable feedback. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our journey.

And finally, as we look ahead to the next 10 years…
We are more inspired than ever. The mission that started in our kitchens and hearts is still going strong, and it’s only possible because of each and every one of you—our team, our customers, and our community. Thank you for believing in us, for growing with us, and for fueling our passion every single day. Here’s to continuing to dream big, work hard, and Krush it—together.

With endless gratitude,
Fran & Michelle
